Is it better to have a skipper on board?

Where will the charter start?

As we are based in Airlie Beach, all of our private yacht charters and bareboat bookings will begin their journey from there. As such, we recommend that you stay at island resorts near or within Airlie to ensure that you’re nearby on the day that your sailing adventure is due to begin. All sailing yachts and vessels will have the opportunity to visit as many of the sites and islands of the Whitsundays as you’d like.

 

Do I need a boat licence?

No – unlike other tour operators in the area, our bareboat sailing charters are backed by a private skipper. All you need to worry about is where you want to go, and at what pace. Your private skipper will provide as much or as little guidance as you would like. Our comprehensive boat charters have everything you need on board – including a local sail guide if you wish!

 

When is the best time to go sailing in the Whitsundays?

Sailing yachts can be seen across the Whitsundays at all times of the year. However, September and October are the peak months in the region. The skies are blue, the wind is light, and there is plenty of sunshine which is ideal for sailing across the Whitsundays.
